Hall of Horrors, Joshua Tree National Park, California

Today was my first time visiting Joshua Tree National Park. I was visiting with a friend that had previously been there, and she recommended that we check out the Hall of Horrors. We parked at the trailhead and did a 1 mile loop hike with a stop at the Hall of Horrors. There are actually two halls to check out. One is wider than the other. The narrower one ends and you have the option to go back out the way you came or you can continue and scramble while route finding your way back to the start. From what I could tell, the area supported a “choose your own adventure” mentality. You could make it as adventurous as you want. After spending ~30 minutes scrambling around, we made our way back to the car. It was a fun way to experience the park.

Stats: 1.0 mile, 50 ft of elevation gain
