Mica Heli Ski Trip 2025, Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada

I’ve yet to have a bad trip to Mica Heli. Mike and I went in to this trip wondering what snow conditions would be like as Mica hadn’t gotten snow in almost two weeks. Lucky for us, what they did have in those two weeks was a very, very cold weather spell. Temperatures were consistently -20C to -30C. This kept the snow cold and caused the top foot of snow to facet. Skiing a foot of facets (also called loud pow) is actually quite fun. The snowpack was also quite stable and allowed us to ski steep slopes that we didn’t have the stability to ski in previous years. It even warmed up a little bit while we were there so the temperatures were actually quite nice and frostbite wasn’t a major concern. This led to an awesome 3.5 days where we skied 122,000 ft of vert. I left the lodge with legs that were ready for a few days off after this trip.
